Summary of the position:

A Vice President of Philanthropy is needed by Refugees International (RI), a nonprofit that fights for lifesaving aid and protection for more than 100 million refugees and other displaced people worldwide (VP).

Refugees International  

In order to create and implement fundraising and outreach initiatives that successfully engage the philanthropic community, the VP will collaborate closely with the President, the Board of Directors, the development staff, and advocates.

The VP will create multi-year strategies and set objectives to nurture people, businesses, and foundations to boost annual philanthropic support because Refugees International does not accept financing from the government or the UN, allowing the advocates to speak freely and independently. 

The VP must be adept at motivating a team, creating an internal philanthropic culture, reaching agreements, and involving the entire company in development initiatives. This individual will report to the President from Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Implementing Strategic Fundraising Design

provide direction, vision, and a plan for long-term financial success;

Assist the RI President in developing and implementing long- and short-term strategic plans.

boosting financial assistance from individuals, charities, and businesses for development initiatives;

Through captivating, donor-centered relationship building, secure transformative donations (five figures or more) and establish solid revenue support;

effectively present programmatic options as a compelling case for funding;

Find potential donors for current, capital, planned, and blended donations and actively seek them out;

In addition to addressing opportunities connected to estate and financial planning of potential donors, develop and manage gift plans and proposals and offer comprehensive actions, outcomes, and timing of potential gifts;

Develop and put into action tactics for cultivating, requesting, and closing gifts;

Implement extensive staff and board follow-up with strategic cultivation, solicitation, and closing results to implement organization-wide fundraising and stewardship activities;

Create efficient long-term stewardship options and activities for current donors;

Development Activities

determine corporate, individual, institutional, and big gift potential through research;

Prepare and present the president and board with monthly and quarterly planning and success reports;

effectively find prospects through data, research, and analysis;

create instruments for data projections of revenue;

keep a dashboard up to date to monitor achievements of objectives;

MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE

obtaining information on the initiative and the organisation, as well as thorough donor information (including historical data);

achieving quarterly financial objectives;

creating and delivering monthly reports to the president and board on the status of fundraising;

completing additional substantial and planned gift donor tasks as directed by the administration or board;

Following the organization's policies and procedures while managing people, processes, deadlines, and money.
